Feng Shui is the ancient art that utilizes the natural energies of your surroundings to redirect energy flows to influence your life in a way that will be more beneficial to you.

Practiced in the East for millennia, though relatively new in the West, Feng Shui recognizes the existence of unseen energies all around us. Feng Shui seeks to put us into alignment with those forces, so we are functioning in harmony with them, rather than pitting ourselves against them.

Science teaches us that there are many such energies that we cannot see. These include television and radio signals, ultraviolet light and electromagnetic forces. Though we cannot see them with the naked eye, we nonetheless know that they do exist and that their effects are very real.

Feng Shui takes inventory of these forces, along with an energy or life force we call chi (pronounced like the first four letters in the word cheese). This chi (sometimes spelled "qi") energy surrounds you and permeates you, regardless of whether you know about it or even believe in it.

Just as there are "hot spots" for your Internet connection and "good spots" or "bad spots" for your cell phone service, there are also "hot spots" and "cold spots" for placement of desks, plants, paintings and so forth. Feng Shui seeks to discover the location of these spots and to then utilize them to your best advantage. "NOT ALL FENG SHUI IS CREATED EQUAL!"

Much of what passes today for Feng Shui is not in fact authentic. Much of what passes today for Feng Shui is simply an effort on the part of some individuals, sometimes through sophisticated marketing, to capitalize on the appeal of the genuine article.

Many people, in thinking that they have been given the benefit of expert Feng Shui guidance, have unfortunately in fact been deprived of such.

Within the category of what constitutes genuine Feng Shui, the distinction may be made between standard Feng Shui (what one might refer to as Feng Shui "lite")
and Imperial Feng Shui, which is ultimately more powerful.

Master Lana Kwai Lan Chan is a true practitioner of genuine Imperial Feng Shui. You can read her story and how she came to possess the secrets of this most powerful form of Feng Shui in the About Lana page.
